Introduction to Christmas
Christmas has become a national holiday. Santa Claus has become a favorite symbol and tradition of Christmas. The image of the happy old elf who drove the reindeer and pulled a sleigh full of toys and gifts from house to house to deliver gifts to each child is deeply etched in people’s memory. Every year near Christmas, there are always children (believing in Santa Claus) who send letters to Santa Claus, such as informing them of the Christmas gifts they want to receive, and in some countries, the post office, in order to avoid disappointment, Someone will respond specifically to these letters.
The depiction of Santa Claus at the North Pole subtly reflects people’s impression of industry. In the early twentieth century, there were images of Santa Claus himself making toys by hand, like a craftsman in a small workshop. Later, the impression became that Santa Claus has many elves making toys, but the toys are still hand-made by each elves in the traditional way. By the end of the twentieth century, the Western masses had fully accepted the reality of mass machine production.
Modern depictions of Santa’s dwelling reflect this: his dwelling is humorously described as a highly robotic production facility, equipped with the latest manufacturing technology, run by elves and a managerial granny santa claus . There are a number of TV commercials that run the scene into a corporate comedy, depicting Genie as a disgruntled employee, hilarious and teasing the boss.
